Greetings my two and four legged friends,
Finally, Summer is here!!! Woof… woof… Arooooo…!!
The Summer Solstice will be here on June 20, and then Summer will officially be in full swing!!! I have seen all my forest friends tending to their new babies, from the geese with their fuzzy new goslings, to the does with their new fawns, to the many varieties of birds with their chicks !!!
The beautiful flowers are in full bloom, and so are the pollens… aaaa..choooo…!!!June also has many human holidays and celebrations in the month of June … here are a few :
June 1: Nat’l. Donut day (also celebrated on the first Friday)June 2: nat’l Cancer Survivors Day
June 6: D-dayJune 14: Flag Day
June 16: Father’s Day
June 19: Juneteenth Day
June 21 nat’l Dog Party Day ( Yes, that’s right , grrrruffff…!!)
And, a few of the crazier celebrations include, among others:
Nat’l. Egg day; World cider Day; Nat’l Hug Your Cat Day; World Pest Day; Nat’l Chocolate Ice Cream Day; Nat’l Bed Bug preservation Day; Nat’l Take Your Cat To Work Day; Nat’l Martini Day; Nat’l Pink And Pink Flamingo Days; And, Blink 182 Day; to name just a few… check it out on line!!!!
All you pooches out there… PLEASE, PLEASE, ask your humans to pick up after you!!!! Especially if you have dog walkers, or younger people who walk you ( especially those who think poop is “Yucky “. If you have a pet, please accept ALL the responsibilities that go along with pet ownership!!!
ALSO, along with all the new woodland babies around, AND the human children being out of school PLEASE ASK YOUR HUMANS TO SLOW DOWN !!!
And now for some dog park news…. Wooof… Wooof … Wooof… Aroooooo…..!!!
Things are looking very green in the park, and membership is up!! And with the warmer weather, more members will be out and about. There will be more of a chance of inviting non members into the park, for whatever the reason, please don’t!! This park belongs to all of us, and when a non member comes in, they bring the risk of “infecting” our membership. We have all worked long and hard to keep our dogs safe and vaccinated!! Please do not give out the gate code to anyone … you could lose your privileges.
Many of you have met our new Animal Control Officer, Leslie Ulanowski. So if you see her in and around the Dog Park, be sure to stop and say “HI”
Also, for dog park members, just a reminder… if your dog is a “ digger”, please fill it in !! There is a shovel and bucket of dirt provided.
